Guardian Funding wants everyone to be able to use our website and apply for funding, including people with disabilities. This page explains what we do to make the site accessible and how to get help if something doesn't work for you.
Our goal
We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at Level AA. These guidelines, published by the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C), explain how to make websites usable for people who are blind or have low vision, are deaf or hard of hearing, or have motor or cognitive disabilities.
What we've done
- The whole site can be used with a keyboard alone, with a visible outline showing where you are and a "Skip to main content" link at the top of each page.
- Pages use headings, labeled regions and plain HTML so screen readers such as VoiceOver, TalkBack, JAWS and NVDA can read them in order.
- Every form field has a written label. If something needs fixing, the form lists the problems at the top, marks each field, and announces the message to screen readers.
- Text colors meet the WCAG contrast minimums in both light and dark mode.
- Pages work when zoomed to 200% and on screens as narrow as 320 pixels, without side-to-side scrolling.
- Buttons and links are large enough to tap easily, and nothing on the site flashes or plays sound.
- Links that open a new tab say so to screen reader users.
We check the site with automated tests and by hand, and we review it when we make changes.
Known limitations
- Other companies' pages. Some links go to sites we don't control, such as Google Maps for directions. We can't guarantee those pages are accessible.
- Spam check. If our application form shows a security check from Cloudflare, it is designed to be accessible, but it is run by Cloudflare. If it gives you trouble, call us and we can take your application by phone.
Other ways to apply or get information
